Vintage Sterling Silver Small Handled Dish (Porringer)

Vintage Porringer from Herbst & Wassall        Circa. 1940       American

Herbst and Wassall were in existence from 1909-1940        This small sterling silver dish with pierced handle is great for holding jewelry on a lady's vanity, or use as a coaster or ash=tray.   The bowl of the dish measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter and is 1 1/4 inches in height.     The bowl with handle measures  4 3/8 inches.    Total weight is 2.3 ozt.    Marked "sterling" with the manufacturer' mark (a wing with an attached star)
