Fabulous pair of early 19th Century English silver and paste earrings.    Paste is a transparent flint glass that simulates brilliant this case, diamonds.  The finest jewelry craftsmen used both diamonds and paste for their creations during this era.   These kind of earrings were originally worn at evening soires when candle light enhanced the brilliance of the stones.  Fabulous pair!

Each earring measures 2 1/2 inches in length with ear wire.   Width is 7/8 inch, at their widest.   Total weight is 11.8 g    or  7.6 dwt
