Pair of 18th Century Louis XVI Bronze Dore Cassolettes
Pair of Louis XVI Bronze Dore Cassolettes Circa. 1760-1780 France
Cassolettes were used to burn pastilles and for liquid perfumes during the reign of Louis XVI These identical cassettes have reversible lids. One side has a finial decoration, the other holds a candle. So beautiful and so clever. Not many of these bronze items survived from this period. This pair measures 8 inches in height and approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Total weight is 4 pounds one ounce. All original. Would be a great addition to any fine home with a classic interior.
All in pristine original condition.
