Table cut round black garnets set in a low carat rose gold; possibly gilt    We will not subject the cross to invasive testing due to resulting damage......it is too small and delicate    The brass chain is rather new and measures 17 inches    Black garnets, also known as melanite, was used extensively for mourning jewelry in the Victorian and Georgian eras    The cross is unmarked as was most jewelry from the Georgian era.   

Cross measures 3/4 inch high x 1/2 inch wide      The weight for cross and chain is 2.0 g.  1.3 dwt
