Antique french document file box has a double-book shaped front in leather.   The box is a wood construct with sides and  back being cardboard covered in a black oil cloth.   These boxes were in vogue during the beginning of the 20th century in France.   The books art titled (english translation)  "Mr. Deliere Loans and Deposits  dated 1st and 2nd semester of 1865" 

 The leather has crackled in a few places but is generally in excellent condition.  The box (cabinet) has a functional door despite that there is some warpage to the sides.   Thus, it is still functional

Book box measures 13 inches high         7 1/2 inches wide                10 1/2 inches deep   Total weight is 2 pounds 12 ounces
