18th Century Footman's Bench
18th Century Footman's Bench Circa. 1740-1760 British Rarely do we find an antique bench of this age and quality. The 18th and 19th Century footman's bench was most often made of iron and brass, not bronze. Bronze was reserved for the very special, for the aristocracy. Also, most of the surviving benches are from the 19th Century. This bronze and iron footman's bench measures 13 inches high x 16 inches wide x 11 inches deep. The weight is a full 30 pounds. The front legs are cabriole. There is a slight sway due to age. The craftsmanship is superb. The design is the essence of simplicity and taste. Perfect for the equestrian estate or the finest of homes. Can best be used as a low table against the wall.
