Pair of Rare Antique Cut Steel & French Jet Earrings from France Circa. 1900 France

These earrings were purchased in France. The pair has been restored to their original glory by our jeweler with a thorough polishing. Our camera cannot capture the brilliance of the cut steel or the french jet glass. A rare and beautiful pair from the turn of the 20th Century

Cut steel earrings were popular through both the Georgian and Victorian eras. They were labor intensive, with each pair taking up to a week to complete! First a metal form had to be produced, then holes added to accommodate the tiny riveted cut steel pieces

This pair is unique in the fact the cut steel is accompanied by french jet (black glass) French jet was also popular during the 19th century in jewelry so a combination of cut steel and french jet is understandable, however not many of these pairs survived.

Each earring measures 3 inches in length Width is 7/8 inch, at their widest Total weight is a comfortable 14.1 g. 9.1 dwt for the pair
