  Biedermeier-Style Jewelry Chest     Circa. 1940   European     From the Estate of Frederick Peleen, Olympic Tower, New York, NY     This custom made jewelry chest is in fruitwood with black lacquer ornamentation.    This is one of the finest men's jewelry cabinets that wwe have seen.  Can also be used by a lady.    The twelve drawers are all lined in robin's egg blue moire, and in pristine condition.   The wood finish shows the age of the piece.  One can simply add a coat of stain and touch up the black lacquer details to achieve a pristine look  Tambour roll top center with mirrored back.   The chest is 20 inches wide and 19 inches high.   the depth is 10 1/4 inches at bottom (the deepest location)   Weight is 26 pounds.  All drawers and openings are correspondingly numbered in pencil (at back) by the cabinetmaker.   This is a wonderfully designed, superbly executed chest that is to be treasured through time.
